Aikido is a Japanese martial art which develops self-defense and an approach to resolving conflicts in a calm manner, without kicking or hitting. Through the practice or Aikido, students inprove self-discipline, self-confidence, and respect for others. IN addition to expanding mental awareness, students also enhance physical awareness through overall body conditioning. Classes are taught by Cheif Instructor Todd Shinto with an adult assistant.
Reistration: Registration deadline is December 11, 2009. The registration fee is $35.00 per child plus $10.00 for the jersey, for a total of $45.00. Must have jersey to participate. The registration is non-refundable, non-transferable. Free or reduced registration fees are availiable through scholarships. Contact your school Principal for scholarship forms. Registrations that are received after December 11, 2009 will be subject to a $10.00 late fee. You may download the form below and mail it in or drop it off.
Winter Aikido
Season: All classes will be held at the Heisey Youth Center. Classes will meet 2 times per week, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Grades K-2 will meet from 5:30-6:15pm. Grades 3-4 will meet from 6:15-7:00pm. Grades 5-6 will meet from 7:00-7:45pm. Season runs from January 5th through February 25th.
